1. introduce yourself
2. suggestions for realtime comms - specifically text chat realtime comms is matrix for text
3. suggestions for collab software/suites - voice + filesharing + shared bulletin and kanban boards collab is teamspeak for weekly voice meetings, bitbucket for source control, trello for kanban/design docs

1. I'm acp, I've been working in software for what feels like forever and have been an on-and-off hobbyist gamedev for nearly a decade. Most of my gamedev experience is in the Unity engine with c#. I would prefer not to be the primary developer and take on a more project manager role but I will program if nobody else steps up. 2. for realtime text chat I think a matrix chat room would work because the element client works on my phone 3. I don't know what to use for collab software. For other projects we used shared google docs and trello and dropbox and that worked fine. We are also going to want at least basic source control. Unity's collab will work fine but limits number of people who can do work on the code to something small like 3. I'm not experienced with slack but I can be convinced thats the way to go.

1, MetallicBioMeat,C++ C# software developer, Have minor gamedev experience (involved in some game jams and other smaller competitions (Mostly Unity)) Unsure if I got the time to be lead programmer but could try and take on the role.
2,Matrix text chat would work for me, Alternatives are to go back to basic IRC.
3.Github or just a git server could work fine, alternative is Bitbucket.(Could potentially store the docs in the repo aswell) Trello could be a good way to setup tasks. Potential Voice is mumble and teamspeak, Pair programming if that is something we want can be done using visual code/studio live share.
Regarding slack its free version limit the amount of text that is accessible (Only 10k messages) and only allows 1on1 voice/video conversation so I don't think its something to rely on.

1. I can help make the design document, and outline levels and narrative. Although I know a little of a lot, its not good enough.
2-3. No suggestions.

I'm Arkana. I have some experience doing 3D and image editing. I can do basic programming too, but nothing too complicated.
Element/Matrix is good for text chat. Discord is fine for voice chat and video sharing, but obviously it's not the best.

1. cccpneveragain here. I used that name for consistency sake from .win but can find a shorter version later. I'm by no means an expert, but I've been programming in some way or another since I was about 7. I started with QBasic in MS-DOS and have had my hands in all kinds of things since. If it's a mainstream language I've probably touched it at least a little bit at some point. Except the new trendy stuff like Ruby. I just haven't had any project it was worth me bothering with those since I can already do those type things in Python or PHP. I'm not going to win any awards for knowing how to do comments or name variables and all that professionally semantics stuff but I'm good with turning a need into how the computer thinks and looking for ways to optimize.
2. Prefer matrix for this. Don't really want to go back to discord if I can help it.
3. I'm fine with GitHub or whatever, or if you want git and don't want it on big tech, I could probably figure out how to set one up with something open source and host it, I've got a VM I don't use for much as it is. I could do a nightly backup on something shared like Dropbox so you aren't afraid I'll disappear and take everything. There's probably alternate git sites as well. I'm not super experienced with software collab anyway.

1. I'm (a) Coomer. I can make 3d models and textures. I can also do sprites. I can kinda-sorta animate, but I'm not great at it. I've got some basic familiarity with Unity's interface which I learned through setting up VRChat avatars. I can probably wrap my head around C# Unity stuff well enough to do simple shaders or minor coding for objects, but I'm probably best kept away from coding things that are going to get more complex further down the line. There's other stuff I know, but it's all game engine specific and it already looks like most people here are most familiar with Unity.
2/3. I'll go wherever you guys go.

Hey guys, I'm lkw. Sorry I'm a bit late, I haven't been keeping up with kia lately. I recently finished a degree in computer science. My most used languages are probably c, python, and c++ to an extent but I can learn anything. For comms I probably have the most experience with irc, but it may be inconvenient to discuss e.g. in progress art assets for a game project due to the lack of image support. Something more like matrix or rocketchat may work better. While I have been using discord quite a bit lately due to not finding people in other places I dislike the company and would rather avoid if possible. For project hosting I may have a preference for gitlab over github due to some of the stances github has taken. iirc both github and gitlab have kanban boards so if we end up using one of them instead of a self hosted solution we should have that.

Hi, I might be interested in helping out ( probably only weekends though due to other commitments) and sporadic communication during the week.
I'm a programmer with 20 yrs experience ( in an industry cant really mention on social media, not trying to be mysterious, its a really boring job,)
I mainly know C/c++, have worked on 3D graphics about 10 years ago! Played around with unreal but never unity. My experience is so over the place can't really list but mainly embedded.
IIf you woukd like me to help out message me, although I probably wont be able to answer until Friday, did I mention sporadic comms during week!
